How To Fire Your Boss And Be Successful

How To Fire Your Boss

So you want to fire your boss. Nice. Join the club. The truth is that most people if given the choice would fire their boss in a heartbeat. The stories of instant millionaires that win the lottery and decide to continue working are always reported by the media. The people are made to look as noble souls who have a solid work ethic and principles. I think that is the biggest crock of shit ever. Who in their right mind would continue to work a job if given the choice? Unless your job is your true calling, I can’t imagine it. I for one am probably the worst employee ever. I hate having someone tell me when and where I have to be. The lack of flexibility in a job is stifling to me. Don’t misunderstand me, I have been an employee from the time I graduated high school and joined the Marines. I have worked in an astounding number of fields. I have been a Marine, a retail sales rep at a department store, I have driven a tow truck, done construction, sold encyclopedias, cars, payroll and even been a bartender at a Cuban restaurant in NYC. I have spent the majority of my adult life as an employee. I have been the boss too. For many years I have been a sales manager in the auto industry. I truly enjoy the hustle and bustle of the sales industry but I HATE (yes I typed that in CAPS) working for other people. I think that being an employee is on par with being an indentured servant. The owner of whatever place you work for decides when you can travel, when you wake up, when you sleep, eat, and even when you can or cannot use the toilet. Think about that. When was the last time that you slept in on a Thursday? Can’t remember? Yeah, well the fact is if you’ve been gainfully employed it has probably been very a long time.

I have tried every way to free myself from being an employee. I never imagined when I was in my early twenties that I would be looking back on my life and realizing that I have made millions for others and I have gotten nowhere. I imagined myself owning my own business and living the life I dreamed of. So, what does someone do when they decide that they no longer want to be a slave to the paycheck? Do you wake up one day and just up and quit? Probably not. In the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki he discusses this dilemma. He describes the difference in mindset between his “Rich Dad” the entrepreneur and his “Poor Dad” the employee. Many of you are employees due to circumstances but inside you have a burning desire to become your own boss. I am here to tell you two things: You are not alone and you can do it. Here in the U.S. the opportunity to be your own boss is very real. You can choose to do a number of things on your own. I wrote earlier about the best ideas for a home based business and went through the various choices.

Yes You Can Fire Your Boss

I am here to tell you that YES, you can fire your boss. Is it easy? Yes and no. The real answer lies in the path you decide to take. You can up and quit and live a life of poverty, join a commune or travel the country or world as a drifter. That is easy to do and very hard to sustain. Eventually the novelty would wear off and the need for money would drive you back into the clutches of an employer. Back on the hamster wheel for you and you would probably never again venture away from a job. That is the first option. The second option is to inherit some money or hit the lottery. Possible? Sure it is, but it is also possible to get hit by a truck after you slipped in the shower and tumbled out the window. Possible but highly unlikely. The third and most viable option is to find a business that will allow you to work on a part-time basis until you build it to the point of replacing your income. What if there was a way for you to have income for life and do it while you prepare for the Donald Trump moment when you look at your boss and say “YOU’RE FIRED!!” Would you make the decision to get started or maybe you would rather not have wealth and freedom? You could decide right now, to do something about and start building a better future for you and your family. You might just want to wake up when you wake up.Maybe you would find a way to get going if you knew that there was proven step-by-step process to become financially independent. That is up to you, you have to make the choice to change your life, to become the person you always believed you were.

Be Your Own Boss

You can be your own boss. It is going to take some risk, some faith, and a lot of focus. Notice I didn’t include hard work in that formula. Why not? Don’t we have to work hard and get rich? No, it isn’t about working harder. Do you think that Bill Gates works HARDER than the guy picking fruits on a farm? Heck no. That’s some hard work. Do you think that Warren Buffet works harder than the Marine, sailor, or soldier in Afghanistan? Probably not, and he is also not risking his life every day. Teachers, policemen, firefighters all work very hard yet there are very few, if any, that are financially independent. The myth of working harder to get ahead is one that every body has been indoctrinated to believe as law. However, the people that I know who are financially independent work very little in comparison. They may have worked very hard to scrape up the means to enable them to become their own boss but once they are there they don’t work harder, they work smarter.

How To Be Your Own Boss

How to be your own boss is what everyone seems to want to know. Well you can start your own business. You have to do your due diligence and figure out what you want to do. You can then apply for a business loan and start your own business, you have to then find a location, employees, start a payroll account, pay employer taxes and then hope and pray that you are not like most businesses. The trend is that 4 out of 5 businesses fail in the first five years. The truth is the odds of having a successful business is even more daunting. As reported in this article on creatuveoverflow.net the odds of failure are astonishing:

We’ve all heard that 9 out of 10 new businesses fail. That is alarming, but when you look at the actual statistics it is much worse than that. Out of every 1000 new businesses, 40% fail within the first year, and 80% would fail within 5 years. Don’t celebrate yet because even if you have made it to 5 years, 80% of those businesses fail before they make it to 10 years. That leaves us with 4% of new businesses still around after 10 years.

Four percent odds? Shit, Vegas has better odds than that. If those are the odds we face why start your own business at all? There is the desire to venture out and beat the odds. We want to believe that we are better than those people that failed. You my friends are in luck, there are proven methods to owning your own business and reducing the failure rate. You can improve your odds if you find a mentor who can teach you step-by-step how to build a successful business. That is the entire premise behind franchises. A franchise by definition is:

Franchising is the practice of using another firm’s successful business model. The word ‘franchise’ is of Anglo-French derivation – from franc – meaning free, and is used both as a noun and as a (transitive) verb.[1] For the franchisor, the franchise is an alternative to building ‘chain stores’ to distribute goods that avoids the investments and liability of a chain. The franchisor’s success depends on the success of the franchisees. The franchisee is said to have a greater incentive than a direct employee because he or she has a direct stake in the business.

Ironically franchises are not “free” as the origin of the word. Instead you tend to pay a hefty price for the franchisor’s knowledge and expertise. The idea is that they did all the failing for you and have now figured out the formula for success. So how does the average person get a franchise? I am not sure. I do know you need a lot of capital and liquid assets to own a franchise. Some franchises limit what you can and cannot do and they can pull your franchise if you fail to comply. Does that actually sound like being your own boss? No, in many ways having a franchise means you have a “boss” in the franchisor. What if there were a way to get the benefits of a franchise without the restrictions of a franchisor over your head? That would be a great thing right? Well you can. How? I am going to give you a couple of ways.

How Do I Get A Franchise Without the Costs?

The best way to get a franchise without the high cost is to become part of an organization that allows you to distribute their products and has a system in place to teach you how. There are different types of opportunities that will allow you to do this. There are direct sales, MLM, or network marketing opportunities. These usually involve you calling everyone you know and presenting them with the business opportunity. Sounds like fun. Not really, but there are many people that follow this basic business model. The next wave of home based business opportunities have taken this old model and re-vamped the entire process. They have automated to a great degree the process of building a large distributorship. Others have modeled themselves after the franchise model. So now, you have choices. You can go the old “word of mouth” route and have home meetings and hotel meetings where new prospects are corralled in and presented with the business plan. The other choice is to find a company that has a duplicatable system in place that speeds up the process. One of the few companies I have found that allows you to make a fast income and do so without all the pitfalls of a traditional MLM company is the Empower Network. With the 3 Step Process that the Empower Network has in place it is easier than ever to start a true home based business that generates a significant income. The Empower Network is a true opportunity with a system to create success. Does this mean that everyone that starts a home based business will succeed? No, your level of success is truly dependent on you. It is no different than any other opportunity. Jobs included. Everyone that starts a job is not assured promotion and success. However, the odds are greatly improved when you follow the system in place. You have to be committed to succeeding and you have to be driven and focused. Your success is in your hands. You can either take the necessary action or you can sit back and be a complainer. You can choose to win or not. You can decide now to make a change. Remember the cliche, No Balls No Glory.
