Competitors of Pizza Hut in Pakistan

The pizza market in Pakistan, encouraged by the successful response to Pizza Hut, led to more entrants into the market.

In the branded pizza market, Pizza Hut has almost 90- 95% of the market share. The company has 34 outlets whereas the competitors have much fewer.

Domino’s Pizzas are known and established as Pizza Delivery experts. They specialize in fast delivery and have more crust options.

In the Pakistani market, Domino’s Pizza made a strategic move by introducing their traditional hand-tossed pizza at the same price as their competition but they offered much larger sizes for the same price. This got a positive response from customers. Also to compete in Ramzan, with Pizza Hut’s successful Ramzan offer, Domino Pizza launched a massive 16″ pizza with a value – added deal. This too received a positive response.

Domino has a unique patented technology recently introduced known as the ‘hot and fresh Domino Pizzas delivery system’. Pizza Express

The history of Pizza Express begins in 1948 when company founder Mr. Peter Boizot MBE tasted his first pizza in Florence. After returning to London in the 1960s he realized that the UK lacked a pizza worth its name. Good pizza, he decided, needed to be cooked authentically, like those he had enjoyed elsewhere in Europe. But for that he needed a special oven which could reach the high temperatures necessary.

The first Pizza Express oven was brought all the way from Rome along with a man to operate it, and was set up in the company’s’ first restaurant in Wardour Street, in London Soho. Business boomed and in 1967 a second restaurant opened, this time in Coptic Street, Bloomsbury. Year after year more restaurants continued to open to meet the hunger of Britons eager to taste authentic Italian pizza.

The competitors have a very minimal market share as the numbers of outlets are limited.
