The better business bureau for work from home is an interesting topic that probably doesn’t get discussed enough when looking for the right opportunity. Very simply, unfortunately today there is a ton of misinformation, lies, and in some cases, flat out scams that claim you can make money online but offer nothing to back it up.
Many people get sucked into paying hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars for a hoe business opportunity and website, but quickly find out that they were simply scammed out of their money, and have nothing to show for it. Hopefully the following information will help you avoid this unfortunate situation and help you to find the top opportunity to start making some serious cash from home.
First of all, here are some important things you should look for when finding the right work from home opportunity, so that you won’t have to worry about calling the better business bureau on them. One of the most important distinctions you have to make when starting out is whether you want a work from home job or a business.
There is a huge difference. With a job, you are working for another company, and therefore you should not have to pay any upfront fees to get stated with these. With a business opportunity, you will generally have to pay some out of pocket capital up front. So what’s the big deal?
The probably is that many online opportunities that require out of pocket fees like to portray themselves as jobs, and make it sound as if you can count on making a certain amount of money within a certain period of time. For example, there are many network marketing type opportunities online nowadays, and many of the distributors for these advertise in places that people typically go to look for a job, such as CareerBuilder.com, Monster.com, etc.
Therefore, the people looking for a job send them their resumes, thinking it’s a job they will get paid a fixed amount for, but in reality all they are doing is buying into an opportunity to make money. When they find out the only way they can make any money is to call people and recruit them to sign up for the opportunity they just got involved with, they usually want their money back, but at that point it’s too late.
Now, there are certainly nothing wrong with work from home business opportunity, and you actually can make a lot more money with them then you could with a job; however, being an entrepreneur obviously isn’t for everybody, as it involved a lot of uncertainty and risk taking. Therefore, if a company ever requires you to pay some up front money for the opportunity to work form them, keep in mind that they are offering you an opportunity, not a job; you will have no idea how much money you will make.
Obviously, an honest, viable company will make this distinction clear, and if they don’t, you certainly shouldn’t get involved with a deceptive company like that. Of course, just because you find a free work from home opportunity doesn’t make that legitimate either; you simply need to research and find out what others are saying about it, and what kind of experience they’ve had with the opportunity, before signing up.
Also, make sure that any opportunity you sign up for has their contact information on their website, and better yet, a physical address and phone number. However, an email address should suffice. This way, if you sign up and the opportunity is not legitimate, you can contact the owner and get your money back. If they don’t provide any information, the better business bureau can’t get involved because they have no way of locating or contacting the website owner.
If they don’t have this, then be sure to move on, as they are probably not a legitimate opportunity. Finally, look out for the usual suspects, such as envelope stuffing work from home opportunities, data entry, work from home typing, paid surveys, etc. While I’m not saying there’s no such thing as a legitimate opportuntiy from these sources, they are certainly few and far between. As long as you keep these important tips in mind, you shouldn’t have to call the better business bureau for the work from home opportunity, because you can be sure they are legitimate in the first pale before getting involved.
